The inscriptions collected here originate from the sanctuary of Zeus and its surroundings. Dedicatory and honorary inscriptions as well as lists of cult personnel form the main part. Ranging from archaic to late antique times they document the development of the most famous Greek sanctuary. For the first time, all surviving inscriptions are reproduced photographically. A chronological list of all known Olympic champions of antiquity is included.
