Die Union zwischen Lutheranern und Reformierten am Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts wird unterschätzt, ihre prägende Funktion für die meisten Landeskirchen in Deutschland ist meist unbekannt. Vermittlungstheologie und Liberalismus schufen unterschiedliche theologische Systeme innerhalb der Union, die historischen Respekt verdienen. At the same time, the idea of the Union today faces new challenges in the communication processes of the so-called »Uniting Churches« in the context of ecumenism, confession and development.
