In 1722, religious refugees from Moravia settled here. Later, Herrnhut became a home for friends and members of the worldwide Moravian Church. Travelers interested in church history visit Herrnhut as a station along the Via Sacra. Others come here to study in our schools or to work in our businesses and institutions. Many visitors come to our little town and we welcome you among many other guests from all over the world! This book will help you discover and get to know Herrnhut.
