This anthology illustrates the literary work of the historical development of Georgia over the last 30 years for German readers. It includes in particular such works, which - to an extent in terms of a historical balancing act - discuss the transformation of a Georgian society from a Soviet to a post-Soviet state, but also address the traumas of war and the problems of integration. The texts (short stories or excerpts from novels) of six Georgian contemporary writers are arranged according to the chronological sequence of historical events and are representative of different eras of recent Georgian history.
