There is no doubt that Johanna Spyri’s Heidi material has found its way into cultural memory – starting with the novels (1880/81) and followed by later media adaptations. Despite Heidi’s fame, many characters from Spyri’s other numerous works have now fallen into oblivion. This volume sheds light on Spyri’s most famous work as well as other texts by the author, in which she addresses both adults and children.
