Die Dichterin: Maria Menz (1903–1996) lebte zurückgezogen im oberschwäbischen Oberessendorf. Seit 1968 veröffentlichte sie mehrere Gedichtbände, gefördert vom Literarischen Forum Oberschwaben, namentlich von Martin Walser. Die 1981 bei Thorbecke erschienene Gesamtausgabe ihrer Gedichte wird hiermit neu aufgelegt. Ergänzt wird die Neuauflage um die Laudatio Martin Walsers anlässlich der Erstauflage und um eine CD mit einem Dokumentarfilm des Südwestdeutschen Rundfunks über Maria Menz: „Aus dem Winkel gelupft“.
