International relations are realized in space. Spaces are a precondition for and result of political will, shaping interactions, mobilities, and diplomacy, and serving as points of reference for how we think about historical actors. But how does our understanding of spaces change when we view them through the prism of international history? What are possible starting points for conceiving of international history as a history of spaces?
