The structure of the accompanying publication of the exhibition "The Art of Preservation" (19 October 2015 - 31 January 2016, Draiflessen Collection, Mettingen) corresponds to the four areas of the exhibition – conserving, documenting, collecting and exploring. These are explained in richly illustrated contributions and shown in exhibition views. Additional essays by experts from a wide variety of fields supplement and enlarge upon the thematic areas. Archivists, museum and university scholars, and restorers look at the phenomenon and essence of the archive from their own perspective. They sensitize the reader for the importance of archives and for the challenges that face them today. The catalogue is available in German as well as English and Dutch editions.
