It shows that these cities, commonly counted among the most secularized places of the world, continue to be permeated by religion – albeit in sometimes unexpected ways. The essays of this catalogue show the conceptual framework of how to approach the materiality of religion in Western European cities today. The texts are complemented by photographs.
