Effective English Language Teaching Through Videos
This book is intended primarily for teachers of English, students of Biology and Medicine and health care professionals. Suggestions of exercises and tasks to improve listening comprehension are given for classes, small groups as well as for individualized self-study using a PC with Internet access in the classroom or at home. The volume combines theoretical approaches and didactic-methodologically based exercises and tasks developed by the authors. “Effective English Language Teaching Through Videos” draws on the authors’ own linguistic research and teaching experience, but contains a full range of modern scientific views on theory and practice. In the practical part, each section is provided with a compendious dictionary, where the information is given in the entries, arranged in the alphabetical order. The dictionary section is subdivided into three parts: medical terms, general vocabulary and linguistic phrases. Each word and linguistic phrase contain the pronunciation transcription according to the British English Received Pronunciation Standard, then American English variant spelling if present, and finally, short and precise meaning of the headword.
