God and Worship in Traditional Asu Society
The research of C. Omari between the years 1967 and 1969 yielded a body of materials on God and worship among the Pare people in Tanzania. His aim was to learn directly from the people in Tanzania about their belief systems and commit them to writing. He, therefore, was able to demonstrate that some people of African origin have believed in God much longer than other peoples. His thesis was submitted to the University of East Africa in 1970. The author is lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Dar es Salaam and an External Examiner at the Lutheran Theological College, Makumira.
