In this Battery Atlas, six areas of consideration are addressed.It starts to outline the situation of the battery cellmanufacturers. While in the past many companies decidednot to manufacture their own battery cells, from aEuropean perspective it is well known that this situationhas changed completely. Currently, many companies seethe battery cell as a core component whose productionhas to be mastered. The battery cell manufacturers alsoplay a key role. It is thanks to them that other industrialsectors such as mechanical and plant engineering (seefigure) are establishing themselves in Europe. Mechanicaland plant engineering in particular relies on being ableto provide appropriate references. These can be built upmuch more easily if the customers (battery cell manufacturers) are also located in Europe so that the advantagesrising from local proximity can be used.
