Die am 21. Mai 1887 eröffnete Höllentalbahn von Freiburg nach Neustadt (Schwarzwald) feiert in diesem Jahr ihr 125-jähriges Bestehen. Die Strecke ist die steilste Bahnlinie im Streckennetz der DB AG (55 ‰ Steigung). Der Betrieb stellt auch heute noch besondere Anforderungen an Fahrzeugmaterial und Bahnpersonal stellt. Interessante Beiträge und Fotos gewähren Einblicke in Geschichte und Gegenwart der berühmten Gebirgsbahn durch den Hochschwarzwald.
