Die Fraktion Christlicher Gewerkschafter (FCG) beging am 14. Oktober 2001 den 50. Jahrestag ihrer Gründung. Am 26. April 1951 wurde bei einer Obmännerkonferenz der christlich-sozialen Gewerkschafter beschlossen, ein Zeichen der Unabhängigkeit und Überparteilichkeit zu setzen. Beim Bundeskonkress des ÖGB 1951 wurde die Gründung der Fraktion Christlicher Gewerkschafter schließlich umgesetzt.
