After World War II, world attention was focussed an Nuremberg. Brought before Allied judges in the city´s Palace of Justice in Fürther Street, leading representatives of the Nazi regime were tried for war crimes. Long repressed in th German conciousness, the Nuremberg Trials from 1945 to 1949 are regarded today as a milestone in the establisment of international law.
