An English adaption of the outdated reference work Moneta imperii Byzantini the first volume of which has appeared in 1973, covering the period of 491 to 565, came out in 2000 and is out of print for a while. The preparation of a second edition offered the chance not only to correct some errors but also to make use of newly discovered material. The quotation numbers of the catalogue have not been altered.
