Kurzcharakteristik von Shiva’s Places /Shiva`s Orte Gutschow /Bau, 2006 Benares, die heilige Stadt am Ganges in Nordindien, ist geprägt von tausenden von Orten, an denen sich Shiva offenbart. Meist wird er in Gestalt eines Steines called linga mit Wasser, Feuer und Blumen verehrt: Im Ritual agiert jeder Mensch als Künstler. Viele der manchmal riesigen Steine gelten "als durch sich selbst entstanden", von manchen heißt es, sie wachsen. Sie stehen für die besondere Qualität des jeweiligen Ortes und sind damit unverrückbar. Der Film zeigt Rituale an 20 dieser Orte. Many of the enormous stones of Benares are considered as "self-created", others are perceived as still growing. They represent the particular quality of specific places and cannot be shifted.
