Studies in Luxembourgish Micro-Toponymy and Linguistic History
This study analyses the linguistic history of Luxembourgish, as the Standard language of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, using micro-toponyms as a source of linguistic traits and for cultural expressions of space. The aim of the study is to use toponomastic data to reverse engineer the developmental processes that led to Modern Standard Luxembourgish, while focusing on phonological, morphological and syntactical aspects. A broad overview of a few of the key lexical entities represented in the data source offers insights into local rural history and language use.
