Die im Jahre 1987 von Reinhold und Carmen Würth zur Förderung von Wissenschaft und Forschung sowie von Kunst und Kultur gegründete Stiftung Würth hat auf Initiative ihres Vorsitzenden Reinhold Würth 1993, im Todesjahr des dänischen Bildhauers Robert Jacobsen ihm zum Gedenken den Robert-Jacobsen-Preis geschaffen. Er ist mit 15.000 Euro dotiert und wird alle zwei Jahre an einen Bildhauer vergeben. In diesem Band wird eine Auswahl aus dem Werk des Preisträgers 2001/02, Stephan Kern, vorgestellt.
