Christian Schad
The work of Christian Schad is characterised by artistic experimentation, a permanent engagement with changing styles and a restless life with many stays abroad. In the 1920s and 1930s, he created pictures that unapologetically held up a mirror to the society of the Golden Twenties. It is these major works of the New Objectivity that are especially remembered.
