The Implementation Mechanisms of the Principle of Gender Equality in the Labour Market in the EU
This book shows different mechanisms that can implement the principle of gender equality in the labour market. Chapters 1 to 4 are mainly concerned with the EU and the UK, including ex post legal protection; positive action as public procurement and gender quotas; family-friendly legislation that may promote women to be more active in the labour market; a few digitalised approaches. From a Sino-European perspective, Chapter 5 critically discusses whether some European experiences could be useful and adequate for China. This chapter contains three primary sections: judicial remedies for gender discrimination, the possibility of “buying gender equality”, and work-life balance in the context of “three-child policy”.
