August Fleischmann (1859-1931) war Opfer einer Erpressung und wurde daraufhin zum wichtigen Vorkämpfer der Rechte der Homosexuellen in München. Seine Zeitschrift "Der Seelenforscher" war eine der ersten Publikationen auf dem noch jungen schwulen Medienmarkt. Mit dieser Biografie und einem Wiederabdruck aller Werke soll Fleischmann in das Gedächtnis der schwulen Geschichte zurückgeholt werden.
