Interaction and networking are the drivers of innovation in many sectors: from autonomous driving in the automotive industry and Industry 4.0 applications in mechanical and plant engineering, to differentiating services that require a technical infrastructure for the provision and billing of services. The consequences for the product and service development are significant: the system boundaries of the products and services are expanded – they become interacting parts of a “system of systems” [1], [2]. The term Systems Engineering thus describes the development of a product, service or integrated combination.
