Die Petrikirche mit ihrem 74 Meter hohen Turm ist ein markantes Wahrzeichen der erzgebirgischen Bergbaustadt Freiberg. Ihr Inneres wurde in den 1970er Jahren modern umgebaut und mit einem Skulpturenensemble des Dresdner Bildhauers Friedrich Press ausgestattet. Zudem haben sich etliche Ausstattungsstücke aus barocker Zeit erhalten, darunter eine klangvolle Orgel des Freiberger Orgelbaumeisters Gottfried Silbermann, die im Kunstführer ausführlich vorgestellt wird.
