Schloss Rosenau, der Sommersitz der Coburger Herzöge, liegt malerisch inmitten eines romantischen englischen Landschaftparks. Ernst I. ließ die mittelalterliche Burg 1808 bis 1817 im neugotischen Stil umgestalten und die Räume biedermeierlich-wohnlich einrichten. Der Marmorsaal und die holzvertäfelte Bibliothek erinnern an die hier gepflegte Ritterromantik. 1819 wurde Prinz Albert, der spätere Gemahl von Queen Victoria, auf Rosenau geboren.
