1983 wurde beim Abbruch eines kleinen Weingärtnerhauses in der Tübinger Unterstadt überraschend eine prächtig bemalte Putzdecke aus der Renaissancezeit entdeckt. Sie wurde mit großem Aufwand geborgen, restauriert und 1996 in die Dauerausstellung des Stadtmuseums aufgenommen. Das Buch ist eine anschauliche Materialsammlung zur Geschichte des Hauses Lazarettgasse 14 und seiner Putzdecke aus der Zeit um 1600.
