The book contains 22 articles by researchers and academics from several European countries. The articles are based on the papers presented at the conference „The Violence in Antiquity and Prehistory“, held at Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca in October 2016 and sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Bonn). The papers investigate the forms, types and causes of violence in the prehistoric and ancient times and demonstrating that the violence was part of humanity’s “dark side” since the oldest times.
