This book develops a new method to evaluate polymer additive manufacturing for series part production from the product design phase to the early manufacturing process development. It is centered around a new process chain simulation approach, enabling the holistic, granular and system- and application-agnostic assessment of process and product in the economic, environmental and technical dimensions along the complete process chain. This way, this work contributes to close major gaps in research and industrial practice for holistic evaluation of additive manufacturing and makes the technology more transparent for use in series part production. In diesem Buch wird eine neue Methode zur Evaluation von polymerbasierter additiver Fertigung für die Produktion von Serienteilen vorgestellt, welche sich vom Produktdesign bis zur frühen Prozessentwicklung erstreckt. Der Ansatz basiert auf einer neuartigen Prozesskettensimulation, welche eine ganzheitliche, granulare und anwendungs- wie systemunabhängige Betrachtung von Produkt und Prozess in den Dimensionen Wirtschaftlichkeit, Umweltauswirkungen und technischer Machbarkeit entlang der gesamten Prozesskette ermöglicht. Auf diese Weise trägt diese Arbeit maßgeblich zur Schließung von größeren Lücken innerhalb der ganzheitlichen Evaluation von additiver Fertigung für die Serienteilfertigung in der Forschung und der industriellen Anwendung bei.
